IFTA Congress

Learning Objectives for the World Family Therapy Congress

Participants in the 2016 World Congress will:

1. Gain knowledge in family therapy theory,
2. Learn how to apply advances in family therapy theory to their model of teaching, supervising, and/or practice,
3. Learn how to integrate new family therapy techniques to their family therapy skill set,
4. Identify how larger sociocultural influences impact families, and
5. Identify how family therapists' approaches to family issues are influenced by sociocultural influences.

IFTA, working in a collaborative spirit with other professionals and organizations around the world who share its mission, also promotes continuing education in the development of quality standards for marriage and family therapy for professionals performing family therapy in order that they may better assist families in the communities in which they serve.
