Call for Proposals: IFTA World Family Therapy Congress

Proposal Requirements
Proposals must be submitted in English via the online form, which enforces the following character/word limits:
- Title: Max 90 characters (including spaces).
- Short Description: Max 50 words (for the Congress program).
- Long Description: Max 300 words (for the Book of Abstracts).
Note: Only the lead presenter will receive official correspondence. It is the lead presenter’s responsibility to relay all information to co-presenters.
Presentation Categories
You may submit only one proposal (excluding posters). If you are listed on multiple proposals, we will prioritize those that best fit the Congress theme.
1. Brief Presentations (20 Minutes)
- Focus: Highlights of research, clinical, or supervisory work.
- Format: Paired with a second presentation under a common theme; moderated.
- Limit: Two presenters per proposal.
- Note: Audiovisual equipment is not available. Handouts are encouraged.
2. General Presentations (45 Minutes)
- Focus: In-depth exploration of clinical work, research, theory, education, training, or social policy.
- Format: Lecture (didactic) or Workshop (interactive/experiential).
- Limit: Four presenters per proposal.
3. Poster Presentations
- Focus: Research or effective field interventions.
- Requirements: Must be between 70 cm x 70 cm and 92 cm x 76 cm.
- Limit: Four presenters per proposal.
- Action: Presenters must stand by their poster during the designated session to discuss their work. 2-page handouts are recommended.
Important Policies
Student Proposals
We welcome submissions from graduate students in disciplines related to systemic therapy. Please include documentation of your current student status with your submission. Do not list your faculty advisor in the program; they should only be listed if they are also presenting and registered for the Congress.
Registration Requirement
To be included in the program, all presenters and co-presenters must register and pay the full Congress fee within one month of receiving an acceptance notice.
- If a presenter fails to register: The presentation will be moved to the waitlist and replaced.
- If a co-presenter fails to register: Their name will be removed from the program.
Proposal Status
You will receive an email acknowledging receipt of your proposal, followed by a decision notice:
- Accepted: Confirmed for the program (contingent upon registration).
- Wait Listed: Not currently accepted, but may be added if an opening occurs.
- Rejected: Proposal not accepted.
Publication Opportunity
We encourage all presenters to submit their work to the International Journal of Systemic Therapy. The Editor will be available at the Congress registration desk to answer questions.
